ABOUT

ISKCON Virginia is a branch of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), which is a spiritual movement founded in 1966 by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. The organization's mission is to spread the teachings of Bhagavad-gita and the practice of Krishna consciousness, which involves devotional service and mantra meditation.

One of the notable things about ISKCON Virginia is the vibrant and inclusive community that it has created. The devotees are welcoming and friendly to all, regardless of one's background or beliefs. The temple hosts regular kirtans (devotional singing) and lectures, which provide opportunities for spiritual growth and connection with others.

ISKCON Virginia also actively engages in service activities, such as distributing prasadam (sanctified food), organizing festivals, and providing spiritual guidance and counseling. Through these activities, they seek to promote a culture of compassion, peace, and harmony.

ISKCON Virginia is a wonderful example of a community that is dedicated to the practice of Krishna consciousness and the promotion of spiritual values. It provides a space for people to come together, learn, grow, and serve others, all in the spirit of devotion and love.

His teaching show us all that we are not this body and how we can transcend this material world.  Srila Prabhupada translated many great scriptures and wrote commentary so this ancient wisdom could be understood by the west.
